How we work

REM operates as a small, high-trust group building foundational infrastructure that must hold under scale, regulation, and complexity. The work is ambiguous, systems-heavy, and always constrained by real-world requirements.

Founding team expectations

Being part of the founding team at REM comes with a different set of expectations. Roles are fluid, ownership is broad, and decisions have long-term consequences.

We expect founding team members to:
• Think in systems, not components
• Be comfortable operating without full specs
• Care deeply about correctness, safety, and long-term maintainability
• Take responsibility beyond their immediate area
• Engage in technical disagreement constructively and rigorously

This is a place for builders who want to shape the system itself — not just contribute.
